The Vrooman Center serves as the main entrance to Hewett and Manchester Halls, and is also home to the Julia N. Visor Academic Center.
The Julia N. Visor Academic Center provides tutoring in a variety of academic subject areas, especially in General Education courses. Weekly small group sessions are available, as well as some drop-in hours. Writing assistance is offered for any course, from the planning stages to the final revision, and assistance in study skills, such as test-taking, note taking, textbook reading, writing papers, time management, and stress management is available. One-on-one academic coaching is also available. In this program, regular meetings are scheduled with a success coach to help student develop personalized strategies for academic success.
The Vrooman Center was first opened as a dining center in 1966. It was remodeled in 2008 to house the Julia N. Visor Academic Center.
